MBTI   ENTJ-A Commander  personality   At first glance, Indrajit comes off as a stoic man with a tempered degree of expressiveness. For the most part, he is a man who does not let himself get overly involved in matters emotionally. He carries a mindset set in old tradition where it does not befit someone of his stature and station to give into emotions that undermine their sense of duty. Ancient customs dictate that duty and obligations reigns supreme over emotions; as a result, Indrajit does not acknowledge the necessity to feel and express emotions in regards to himself. To him, happiness is not to be indulged in excess - nor does he acknowledge sorrow in any capacity regarding himself. Many are Indrajit’s faults. He is very much a hypocrite. He realizes the importance of other people expressing their feelings while simultaneously denying himself that very same thing. He is an egoist, drunk on his own power. He is a man brimming with the arrogance born of countless victories. Whatever his goals and desires, he does not shy away from attaining - regardless of the danger.Indrajit holds great pride in Thavnair. He is a patriot in every sense of the word. He considers his first and foremost duty to his people and to his king. He is vastly loyal to his adopted father. For the sake of the Satrap's well being or for the glory and prosperity of Thavnair, he would not hesitate to lay down his life. To Indrajit, there is no such thing as shirking his duty. There is no such thing as retreating when a task is left unfinished. In spite of his ferocity, Indrajit can equally be kind and considerate. Though he was not a sociable person in his youth, he had spent years stepping out of his social boundaries and getting to understand people. He is very much an advocate of the noblesse oblige mindset - especially given his position. As someone who is the heir to the Satrap’s throne, and as someone who leads the Radiant Host as its commander, Indrajit holds himself to a standard that dictates that it is his duty to support and provide for others.

Every promise becomes a kshatriya's Dharma, even if that Dharma is performed through Sacrifice. The Deepam's way is not to let the fire die, fearful of the storm's wrath.

Memory Of Origin

“When I close my eyes… I dream of a distant vision where I had once soared over this Star.”Well before Eitherys’ sundering, an invader descended upon the Star. Hailing from Dragonstar, Zahhak was a wyrm of considerable power. The wyrm was a conqueror of worlds, never content to reside within its own star. Submit or die - this was the ultimatum given to the denizens of each world visited by the wyrm. He had ruled over countless stars like a God. Wherever he roamed, Zahhak left a trail of destruction - ravaging worlds one after another.Along his path of war was Eitherys - the beautiful, aether rich world that was home to the Ancients. It was a perfect target for a wyrm as ambitious as Zahhak. When the dragon had descended upon the world, the span of its wings cast a vast shadow over the world. That very same ultimatum he had presented to his past conquests he now presented to these very Ancients. It came as no surprise that the denizens of the star would choose to fight back against him. Such powerful entities - vast in aether and skilled with magic - would certainly choose to pursue a third option. Many were Zahhak’s foes; Azem, Emet-Selch, Lahabrea. Among its many conquests, Eitherys had started to become Zahhak’s favorite. This gambit of life and death started to become a game for it; for once, it could put its mighty strength to use in full against a coalition of such foes. When the skies turned dark and fire fell upon the world, the Fell Beasts arrived to ravage the lands. It was an inescapable doom that befell the Ancients; it was a despair beyond their comprehension. Suddenly, Zahhak’s toys were at risk of being broken by something other than him. A fury overwhelmed the wyrm, who laid indiscriminate destruction upon the world. Neither Ancient nor Terminus were spared his wrath. The chaos that ensued exacerbated the despair brought about the Final Days, further plummeting the Star to its end. Thus, when the Ancients took final and decisive action, the world had changed completely. Zodiark’s veil protected the Star from the influence of the Final Days. Meanwhile, Hydaelyn’s power had sundered the star into the Source and its thirteen reflections. The Ancients had found themselves similarly split into fourteen - as did Zahhak.

Memory Of Premonition

"And so, I am born as a Man. Why, then, am I revered as a god? Such is my path ordained."Long ago, when the Raen of the Azim Steppe had departed their ancestral home, they found purchase throughout the continents of Eitherys. Among them was a man who had led his clan to what is now the nation of Thavnair upon the continent of Ilsabard. It was said that this Raen ancestor was a man of great foresight - one who possessed a hardened mind and a penchant for sensing approaching danger.Little did his people know of the origins of the ancestor's ability. The latent power dormant within all beings had made itself manifest in the man. Its power aided him in blazing a trail for others to follow. Wherever he met a stranger of a distant land, the man could converse with them as though he himself were fluent in their language.By all accounts, the Raen ancestor was a man held in great regard - whom many treated with veneration. He had gained such trust amongst his people that doubt was rarely levied upon him, if ever - and only by very few individuals. Thus, when said ancestor spoke of a dream he had of a "radiant light being born of his blood," rumors of prophecy spread throughout his people. It quickly became belief amongst this clan of Thavnairian Raens that the Divine Father, Azim, himself would be incarnated to the ancestor's line. It was a faith that persisted through the generations. Whensoever the ancestor's descendants was with child, processions, rituals, and celebrations would be performed in the name of Azim. Even when faith began to shift to adopt the Thavnairian divinities of Manusya and Mrga, faith in Azim did not waver. When a woman by the name of Manaswini was with her second child, the clan received a summons from the Satrap himself - requesting the woman's presence in Meghaduta. It was a secret known to very few of Thavnair that the Satrap was in truth the great Wyrm, Vrtra. However, to make his presence known to Manaswini was of great import - as only within his presence would Manaswini remain safe, for Vrtra could sense a great power - one yet to be tamed - stirring within the woman's womb.It was within Meghaduta's walls that a radiant babe was born, with scales glimmering gold like the sun and an ocean of aether so dense that it gave manifest to those prayers and faiths that persisted through the generations.
Thus was the child named by the wyrm who would adopt him as his own son - Indrajit.

Memory Of Matricide

"But because of these hands, no longer can my mother offer sanctuary"Though adopted, Indrajit was not separated from his family. His elder sister, Aditi, was similarly adopted - and their mother brought to the Meghaduta so that she might continue to care for and nurture her children as any mother might. Alas, there was but one stipulation; Manaswini was to care for Indrajit only with Vrtra's presence nearby. Later in his infancy, at the age of three, Indrajit received a younger brother - once again in the form of adoption.Though just a boy like any other, Indrajit - as Vrtra's adopted son - was to take on the mantle of Thavnair's prince. For not only this reason, Manaswini imbued into her son the tenets of one who is noble. As a scholar of arts and ethics herself, she taught Indrajit compassion, mindfulness, and truthfulness. She taught with patience and disciplined with a gentle hand. When it came time to rest and take a reprieve from studies, Indrajit was often showered by a mother's love. Nights of restlessness were met with lullabies to lull him to sleep. A bruise or scrape suffered, despite Indrajit's lack of care on his part, would leave Manaswini running to inspect his injuries. Food that Indrajit could not stand to suffer were fed to him by her hand while she regaled and distracted him with stories. One night, Indrajit experienced nightmares that stirred him from sleep. Dreams of burning plains and bloodcurdling screams wracked his mind. Vivid thoughts of conquest filled his mind; in his dreams, he beheld himself biting down on a man he didn't recognize - only to then find himselves in the jaws of a beast. Indrajit's roar upon snapping awake brought Manaswini running through the halls of Meghaduta to check on him.Though she thought to console him, it was a poor time to do so. It became clear why it was Vrtra's mandate that Indrajit be looked after only in the wyrm's presence. The powers that lay dormant in the boy awakened; his soft, gentle eyes transformed into that of a dragon's - serpentine and radiating with power. He brimmed with overwhelming aether, which soon consumed Manaswini - whether he wanted to do so or not.Gone was a mother's tender love. In lieu of it was the fanatical zealotry of a devotee. Rather than gentle words to chastise him, she spoke of empty praise that only left the boy feeling emptier. Even a child such as him could tell that this was not the woman who he came to know as mother. There was little Thavnair's scholars could do. Even Vrtra was at a loss as to how to reverse the tempering. The little action they could take was to imbue Manaswini with just enough aether of stasis to prevent her from transforming under the effects of the tempering. She fell into a deep coma as Thavnair's aetherologists took care to monitor her condition and keep her from transforming. All the while, Indrajit was faced with the reality that he was the cause of his mother's indefinite slumber.

Memory Of Divinity

"Hereby, I vow - Never again shall this power mine twist the minds of innocents!"Due entirely to his awakening as an Eikon, Indrajit could not be raised or taught around other children of Radz-at-Han. Even those in the Meghaduta were at risk should they stray too far from Vrtra. Thus, Indrajit was taken to the ashram Ashoka of Guru Sri Sri Vedacharya. The Gurudev was a man with a past as old and mystifying as Thavnair itself.Indrajit found himself welcomed with open arms into Ashoka. The boy was apprehensive and he was utterly closed off to the people around him. At times he would be obstinate and at other times he would be reclusive. Still, Indrajit was awarded with patience from Vedacharya. Slowly, over time, Indrajit began to emerge from his shell. From Vedacharya, Indrajit learned Dharma, ethics, and law. He learned the arts and sciences, literature, maths, and history. He learned music, such as Carnatic, and he came to learn the Veena as well. Most of all, however, Indrajit was taught the art of warfare. The use of arms and armor, the manipulation of aether, and the invocation of magics - he learned and imbibed every lesson. He was diligent in his studies. As he grew into his adolescence, Indrajit became a serious young man with a disposition for noble duty. Every tenet of a Kshatriya, every trait of a virtuous prince, he strove to represent. He had grown to control the wild impulses of his awakening, but they were not perfect. It did not come as easily as breathing. It was a turmoil, a battle within his own mind as the persona within clashed with that of the man. When he had brought this concern to Vedacharya, the elderly Guru informed Indrajit that all would be clear once he had offered the payment for education - the Dakshina. It was not money that Vedacharya sought. It was a task that the Gurudev sent Indrajit upon. He informed Indrajit of malicious entities in the western lands of Eorzea; he spoke of how they summoned Primals to invoke chaos through the lands of man. He bid Indrajit to lay low these villains - warning him of their soul's ability to transcend death. Thus, westward did Indrajit set on. Until he could control this power of his, he remained alone on his travels. He avoided any settlements which housed man or beast. He searched near and far for his quarry. Whensoever a society gave creation to a Primal, he alone would face them - he alone would slay them. Every Primal slain was aether which would bolster his strength, testing the resilience of the man in the face of "the one within".The trail led him to these dark robed entities, finally. Many were black of mask while a single one was red of mask. A mighty battle followed and even a wyrm such as Indrajit found himself pushed to the brink. However, with every Ascian slain was a soul that Indrajit would consume. Never were they allowed to escape him; rather, they were made to bolster him further.Once he had felled his final foe, the red masked wizard, Indrajit felt a searing pain course through his temple. He witnessed memories of fleeing giants, malformed beasts, and cascading stars amidst a devastated world. He could feel control and autonomy return to him as he came to understand the true nature of who and what he was. He came to understand the magnitude of his duty and the power he carried that beholds him to his duty. And thus, it was the man that pledged such an oath - that never again shall his power twist an innocent's mind.

Memory Of Apocalypse

"The screams of my people split the skies. Faced with their anguish, my Oath is silent - softer than a breath."Such a day came when terror struck Thavnair. In the south of the island rose a tower, oppressive and vile. Thavnair's sons and daughters were taken captive, their lives to be used as fuel for the dark magics that lay within. Erected by none other than Zenos viator Galvus and the Ascian, Fandaniel.Once in the past, Indrajit had half a mind to subjugate Garlemald. For an empire such as theirs, he knew it was only a matter of time before their sights turned to other neighbors apart from Eozrea. Due to Thavnair's stance on neutrality, action against Garlemald was not taken. However, the exiled prince's actions proved that day to Indrajit that their inaction was a detriment. To rectify such a mistake and to save Thavnair's people, Indrajit set upon the Tower of Zot.The destruction of the tower was not the end, but rather the beginning. Following the death of Zodiark, calamity took hold of Eitherys. Akasha flooded the world, creating monstrosities out of people. Despair twisted the hearts of people, turning them into malformed beasts that killed and destroyed indiscriminately. Among the lost were Ahewann bin Alzadaal, a man Indrajit viewed as his own uncle, along with Qulsun bihn Aphmau, the former High Commander of the Radiant Host. This was to say nothing of the countless innocents who were lost.As a veteran of countless battles and as the prince of Thavnair, Indrajit took the mantle of command upon himself. With quick, decisive action, he deployed the Host wherever they could be spared. Where they could not, he dealt with such monstrosities himself. From the streets of Radz-at-Han to the shores of Yedlihmad - and even to the island of Vanaspati, Indrajit rampaged - felling beast one by one.And still, it was not enough. Despair gripped at the hearts of many still, spawning monster after monster.Indrajit's aether sense told him all that he needed to know. When the turned fell, their souls did not return to the lifestream. Their souls were nowhere to be found. Could anything be more wicked than a soul erased, to be no more? No. Fury swelled in his chest.Despair was what turned one into a beast of the apocalypse. If despair spread faster than hope, then better to deprive the heart of despair to begin with. Thus did Indrajit break his oath. The power which he since shunned, which he swore to never turn against the innocents, he did just that.An ocean of aether engulfed Thavnair wherever the prince went. It filled the souls of Thavnair's children, compelling the hearts of those affected away from fear and towards zealous devotion. Courage was artificially imbued into them. Indrajit's resolve as a warrior coursed through their veins, their minds, and their hearts. For those who could not escape, it was better to fight than to turn. In this way, at least their souls might be spared. Perhaps they might save another through their deaths. Thus, the souls of hundreds returned to the lifestream that day.

Memory Of Retribution

"Should I allow this cur to go unpunished, then no longer shall my name be Indrajit."Following the events of the Final Days, stability had begun to return to Thavnair - slowly, but surely. During such a time, an excusion into the Void - the Thirteenth Shard - was to be carried out. The purpose was to locate Azdaja, the brood-sister of Vrtra himself.Though Indrajit had full confidence in his father and the Scions who went with him, as his father's son, he deemed it only appropriate that he lend his aid. His aether was as an ocean, resilient and dense; as a result, he was quite equipped to traverse the Void himself. Though Vrtra was hesitant to start, Indrajit's insistence caused the mighty wyrm to concede. When it was discovered that Azdaja was being held captive by a voidsent by the name of Golbez - and more particularly - when it became evident that Azdaja's aether was being used as fuel by them - Indrajit took the resolve to crush the man underfoot. No despair of his father's would go left unpunished. Thus, when it was time for the Scions and the Warrior of Light to face Golbez, Indrajit provided his assistance. Amidst the fierce clash, he thrashed and trampled upon the voidsent, nulling blow after blow and rending any hope of victory for the Voidsent. When Golbez had cast Azdaja into the void and created Zeromus, it was yet another insult to be punished. Alas, Indrajit would not get that opportunity - for Golbez himself provided aide to stop Zeromus amidst a change of heart. Though Indrajit would not forget nor forgive, rescuing his aunt took precedence.

Present Memory

"Upon my shoulders, I raise my nation anew. I am its pillar, immovable, unshakeable."The Final Days had passed. Azdaja had been returned to Thavnair. The storm had come to an end, though much work yet needed to be done. The apocalypse had left countless destitute and in need of aid. Many who could not remain in Thavnair fled elsewhere.Due to the passing of the previous High Commander of the Radiant Host, Indrajit took this mantle upon himself. With his station and prestige, he began a reconstruction and redevelopment plan for the Radiant Host. Though many were lost and many had retired, his words struck a chord with Thavnair's citizens and inspired many young adults to enlist. In matters of military, state policy, foreign relations, and more, Indrajit spearheaded many operations with the blessings of his father and Guru. When Thavnair formed an alliance with Tural, Indrajit joined Vrtra in the excursion to the west. Deploying to join the ensuing war between Zoraalja and Tural, Indrajit fell countless foes before providing his aid against the Turalian prince himself.Present day, Indrajit works to maintain relations between Thavnair and Tural - going so far as to deploy trusted Radiants to aid the allied nation.

mind

Tempered and born of an indomitable will, Indrajit's mind is calm and honed even in the midst of battle. With no fear or death nor attachment to life, he acts as prescribed by his duties. He is unshakeable in battle - and even amidst fury, he maintains such a disposition that his battle acumen is not inhibited.

eikonic

As a man who is equal parts Primal, Indrajit is very much capable of enthralling others and binding them to his will; this is a method seldom used, unless the foe in question is truly atrocious. Furthermore, as a Primal, he is capable of consuming aether along with another's soul.

magicks

Due in part to his understanding of Eikon Summoning, as an Eikon himself, as well as due to his Gurudev's teachings, Indrajit has unlocked the knowledge and mastery of Creation Magicks. With a pool of aether more than sufficient enough to utilize it, Indrajit possesses all the potential to use it as he pleases. However, he does not create life with it; he has sworn it off, as he intends to play his part in life as a Man - not a God. Still, he very much uses it to manifest certain aspects of himself in ways that would otherwise be difficult to achieve. Furthermore, he utilizes this magic to reduce or increase his size. He is not against creating inanimate objects.

He is skilled in the arts of Musti Yuddha (Fist Fighting) and Malla Yuddha (Wrestling).

echo

Obtained after having consumed the soul of an Ascian, the clairvoyant power of the Ancients resonated with the aspect of the Man. While already possessing a resilience that prevents tempering, the Echo does a great deal more for Indrajit. With it, he possesses a mastery over his Eikonhood, allowing him to regulate the balance of his Aether in the face of his Eikon aspect.

aether

As one who, through his own aether alone, manifested himself into a Primal upon birth, Indrajit's reserves runs deep and is as abundant as an ocean. As the victor of many battles, including against other Eikons and Ascians, Indrajit's aether has only grown substantially.
